Meet PRSA Phoenix Fundraising Chair Madeleine Budge, APR. Madeleine joined PRSA to connect with fellow communicators and become more involved in Arizona’s public relations community. What inspired you to join PRSA?
I was inspired to join PRSA by a desire to deepen my involvement in Arizona’s public relations community. I wanted to expand my professional network and connect with others who share my passion for storytelling.
How has being part of PRSA impacted your career or perspective on public relations?
Being part of PRSA has significantly broadened my knowledge of the industry. I spent a year and a half completing PRSA’s APR program, which contributed greatly to my professional growth. That experience shaped the way I approach my work and deepened my appreciation for the field of public relations.
What is one valuable lesson or skill you have gained in PRSA?
The most valuable lesson I have learned through PRSA is the importance of relationships. Strong relationships are the foundation of effective public relations. Whether with colleagues, industry peers, clients, journalists, or client stakeholders, nurturing those connections is essential to doing this work well.
Why would you recommend PRSA to someone interested in public relations?
PRSA is an outstanding resource for anyone looking to build meaningful relationships within the industry. It provides a strong framework for upholding professional standards while also offering a supportive community to help advance your career.
What is your favorite part about being involved in PRSA?
My favorite part of being involved in PRSA is hosting in-person events. There is something truly energizing about bringing public relations professionals together in one room. From event planning and industry discussions to making new connections and connecting with colleagues, in-person events create an experience that simply cannot be replicated.
What is a fun fact most people would not know about you?
Something most people do not know about me is that I have a twin sister!
